Itinerary

Upon arrival into Johannesburg, South Africa, you will be met at the door of your aircraft with your name on a paging board. You will be assisted through immigration, baggage collection and customs. You will then be shown to your onward flight, or to your awaiting transfer vehicle.
A privately driven vehicle will provide you with a transfer between the Airport and your hotel, or vice versa, today.

Situated on the eastern edge of the Okavango Delta on the beautiful Xakanaxa Lagoon that lies within the Moremi Game Reserve, is Camp Moremi. Set amongst a natural riverine forest of huge teak and ebony trees, Camp Moremi has breathtaking panoramas of Xakanaxa Lagoon. Communal guest areas are elevated under thatch and timber with a main lounge, small wildlife reference library, dining area and bar. Facilities at the camp include a secluded swimming pool and sundeck, an elevated viewing platform with scenic views over Xakanaxa Lagoon and a thatched boma where guests can enjoy brunch or afternoon tea.

Moremi is home to nearly 500 species of bird (from water birds to forest dwellers), and a vast array of other species of wildlife, including buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, jackal, impala, red lechwe and African Wild dog.
You'll usually be out from the crack of dawn until mid morning. Returning to the camp for lunch and a siesta before heading out for your afternoon activity.

You'll be up early again this morning to join up with others at the lodge for your game drive. If you're lucky you may get to see the elusive African Wild Dog. You're guide will introduce you to all aspects of this incredible area.
An afternoon activity awaits after lunch and a refreshing siesta, before heading on another game drive this evening.

Situated in the Kanana Concession, the focus of activities at Kanana varies with the rising and falling levels of the Okavango Delta. The annual floods transform this dry camp into a true water experience and you may actually enjoy the breathtaking spectacle of the water visibly rising around the camp’s raised teak decks.
Activities included in your package allow you to enjoy morning and late afternoon game drives in open safari vehicles, with afternoon game drives often continuing into the evening. Spend more time in the bush with half and full day safari adventures with picnic lunches. Excellent area for birding with regular sightings of Pel’s Fishing Owl.
Alternatively you may explore the crystal clear waterways by mokoro or motorboat, and enjoy the magnificent variety of birds, plant and reptile species found in the area. Glass-bottomed Mokoro’s (canoes) enable you to view the underwater world of the delta. Birding is spectacular, and Kanana hosts a seasonal heronry that teems with activity, a Kanana highlight which converts all visitors to avid 'twitchers' at first sight.
One of the only places where you can enjoy a guided bush walk, Kanana's location allows you to explore the delta on foot accompanied by expertly trained and armed guides. You can also enjoy fishing for tilapia, African pike and sharptooth catfish (March through to December and basic equipment supplied).

Located in the private Kanana concession in the south-western Okavango Delta overlooking the Xudum River is relaxed Kanana Camp. The eight deluxe luxury style tents are built on stilts to insure a good view of the floodplains for all guests. The common facilities of the camps are also built up on stilts overlooking these floodplains. There is a sandy fire pit and jetty, and a short walk from there leads you to a lovely swimming pool and deck. Kanana Camp is built among spectacular shade trees of ebony, knob thorn acacia, and the sausage tree. Protected by a mix of jackal berry, acacia and sausage trees, Kanana is surrounded by a necklace of islands dotted with palm, fig, ebony and knobthorns and home to a myriad of birds, plants and animals.

Day 6 :
Okavango

The Okavango Delta is home to some of the most spectacular and varied wildlife on Earth. Famed for its big cat and bird population, the delta is a peaceful haven where animals have been protected for decades and know they will not be disturbed. You'll have the opportunity to see animals up close when expert guides accompany you on your daily included activities. The area also boasts a diversity of landscape with desert, dry savannah, lagoon and swamps in close proximity – cheetah, crocodile and elephant can frequently be seen.
In the Okavango, you will typically you will have a morning activity, coming back to your camp for lunch and some down time. Later in the day, you will head out for your afternoon activity.

Day 7 :
Okavango

Enjoy breakfast in the first light of day and head out to explore more of the fascinating Okavango Delta. Today, you might encounter impala and predators such as cheetah or the endangered wild dog. Return to the camp for lunch and perhaps a siesta, before heading out for an afternoon activity.
